VAV Plastic scrapers are often used in the agricultural sector. Because the chain rests on the plastic scrapers, there is no steel-on-steel contact, which means the chain wears less quickly. The plastic scrapers also have excellent sliding properties. This saves energy, reduces noise and saves costs. The scrapers are easy to (dis)assemble. Due to the flexibility of the cleats, obstacles in the conveyor can be absorbed.

• For measuring chain wheels/sprockets we distinguish between 2 types of wheels. Body wheel with interchangeable tooth segments (fork chain) and the toothed (or without teeth) divisible chain wheels (gutter scraper chain).
  Sprockets for drop forged chain:
  * Number of teeth
• * Hub diameter x length
  * Bore
• Sprockets for Drag Link Chain (DIN)
• * Number of teeth
  * Hub diameter x length
  * Width of the teeth
  * Pitch circle diameter of outder diameter
  * Bore
• Instruction sprocket drag link chain

The minimum recommended pulley diameter depends on the breaking strength of the elevator belt. Here is an overview of the minimum pulley diameter in relation to the breaking load of the belts:
400 kg/cm2 –   Ø315 mm
500 kg/cm2 –   Ø400 mm
630 kg/cm2 –   Ø500 mm
800 kg/cm2 –   Ø630 mm
1000 kg/cm2 – Ø800 mm
1250 kg/cm2 – Ø1000 mm.

Plastic elevator buckets are sometimes preferred over metal versions because of a number of important advantages:
* No steel-on-steel contact in case of misalignment, which contributes to the Atex environment.
* With sticky products, the product will stick less in the elevator bucket.
* Light weight.
* The Nylon bucket in particular is more wear-resistant than the PE bucket and is more flexible.
* Corrosion resistant

• When measuring screw segments, the following dimensions (in mm) are important:
  * Outer diameter
  * Inner diameter
  * Pitch
• * Thickness
  * Right or left handed pitch
